Little Corners Part 2
The Hallway is the centre of the our house, so I wanted to add personal touches so you knew exactly whose house it was as soon as you walk in. I still want to find some more prints to hang up, but that's an on going project right now.
I wanted something cosy, yet bright to fill the space, so the wood and the white ornaments set if off quite nicely.
This print is from my good friend Stuart - you can check out his page here: http://www.shred-art.com/
He mostly does snowboard themed paintings, but has his own distinct flair which I love. We also own a smaller version for my boyfriends office (which is yet to be finished!)
On the console table we have an array of trinkets to add a homely feel to the place. I originally had a small vase of thin fake flowers in the corner, but found this big leafy fucker in IKEA who fits in perfectly (Don't ask me what plant it is...the label was wrong!) The plant pot is from IKEA too.
I also found an LED star light from New Look, and a Copper 'L' from Hobby Craft.
The console table was from a shop called Cargo - which no longer exsists, but it was a bargain and a half!
Underneath we keep shoes and bags as it's only a small hallway and we wouldn't be able to fit anything else in like hooks or a seperate shoe storage.
Hope you enjoy!

| Top is from Homebase, Below is Oliver Bonas |
When we moved into our flat we brought budget pieces from Ikea to get us started - to slowly update in the future when we had the budget.(Our coffee table was £8 ha)
So I've had a good mooch on the internet and have found some beautiful statement pieces of furniture that I'd love in the new house.
Oliver Bonas have some awesome retro looking pieces. I love the colored cupboards and different shaped drawers, Habitat from Homebase have some similar pieces but at a much more budget friendly cost! My next job is to convince the boyfriend that they'd look great in our living room!
Now that we have a decent sized hallway I'm on the lookout for a console table - somewhere to keep phones and important bits and pieces. There's this gorgeous option from Ikea - LIATORP for a decent price with a beautiful glass top and shelf design so that the top doesn't get cluttered, but everything can be visible at the same time. I really like the simple white design; it will make the room look light and airy and add a bit of life to the space. This is the only contender in the console table department at the moment.
The same range from Ikea do a gorgeous concept coffee table with the same glass top and drawers underneath. I love this, but don't think white will suit our dark sofa's. So I'm still on the hunt for either a new coffee table or side tables.

Home Inspiration
Hopefully in the next few months myself and my boyfriend will be moving into our very own house. We are currently residing in a rented 2 bed flat, which has been our home for just over a year now. We pretty much have all the furniture we need, but I want to make our new house a home. The problem with renting is you can't really make it 'yours.'
The lounge is a nice big L-shape and has so much potential. I'm currently in between color schemes for this room. Do I go down the 'woodland' theme with greens and browns, or go for an ultra modern approach with crisp white walls and copper features. Our sofas are a dark brown so both these themes will be easy enough to incorporate the sofas into. Next at home have some gorgeous offerings at the moment.I really like the idea of muted green colors and wooden furniture. It feels fresh and clean but with a nice home like feeling. I love decorations with deer's and woodland critters on so I would certainly incorporate those into the room.
The first two rooms I want to get my hands on is the lounge and the bathroom.

In terms of adding copper...I could easily incorporate a few statement pieces into the room. There are some gorgeous copper pieces I have my eye on from Oliver Bonas. The copper letters and mirror fixings are to die for. It's like rose gold goodness spread out over your home. There's also a beautiful statement lamp from Next at Home in the Oslo range I have my eye on.
For the bathroom I need to knock a few walls down and re-arrange the set up of the bathroom. It's currently a toilet with a separate bathroom. So we plan on knocking that wall down to create a nice large space with enough room for a bath (I love a good bath!) and super duper shower. I want a clean and crisp bathroom so maybe white tiles, or a nice creamy stone effect. Next at Home have some gorgeous nautical themed home wares in at the moment, so f it was to be crisp and white I would have a cheeky lighthouse and anchor in there somewhere!
I've been scouring the internet for some ideas, but I probably won't know until we move in.
I might have to get onto Pinterest and start getting some inspiration!
Expect more of these posts, especially once we move in, interior design really interest me, and now I've finally got the chance to do it in my own little house.
